Story
As apart of the Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, Accor Race to Survive Team I am currently raising money to support Lifeline, Kokoda Youth Foundation, Garvin Institute, AIME and Australian Childhood Foundation.
My goal is to fundraise $700 by competing in the following events:
- City to Surf Race (14 KM's) on the 11thof August 2019
- Sydney Running Festival Half Marathon (21 KM’s) on 15thSeptember 2019
What is Race to Survive?
Race to Survive is Accor’s adventure race (similar to the Amazing Race TV Show) that will take place on the Gold Coast in October 2019. From the Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour there will be a team of 4 that will be competing with me.
Accor’s goal is to raise over $1 Million collectively with the Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour goal being $15,000.
Who are We Supporting?
The organisations that the fundraising will be supporting are Lifeline, Kokoda Youth Foundation, Garvin Institute, AIME and Australian Childhood Foundation. A little bit of information regarding the charities that we will be supporting:
- Lifeline – Provides all Australians with personal crises and suicide prevention hotline 24 hours each day.
- Kokoda Youth Foundation – Challenges and changes lives by embodying values of courage, Mateship, endurance and sacrifice through challenging endurance events and empowering youth programs.
- Garvin Institute – Australia leading Biomedical research institution focused on finding cures for major diseases including cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s Disease and Parkinson’s Disease.
- AIME – a structured educational program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander kids to access throughout their high schooling experience to assist in transition through to university, training and employment at the same rate as every Australian child and closing the gap in educational outcomes.
- Australian Childhood Foundation – non-for-profit organisation designed to assist children and families that have experienced abuse, family valance or neglect.
I would appreciate any support for the team at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour and myself as we prepare for Race to Survive 2019.
